What is Talksie?
Talksie is an online B2B marketplace connecting businesses with freelance professional interpreters and translators. Clients search by language pair, industry, and location — then message and hire directly through the platform.
Who is Talksie for?
Talksie is for businesses that need professional language services — from a single interpreted meeting to ongoing translation work — and for freelance interpreters and translators who want to work directly with business clients.
How is Talksie different from a translation agency?
Unlike a traditional agency, Talksie gives clients direct access to independent professionals with transparent pricing. There are no opaque markups or anonymous teams — you see exactly who you're working with and what they charge.
What is the difference between interpretation and translation?
Interpretation is real-time — spoken language converted live during meetings, conferences, or negotiations. Translation is written — documents, contracts, and reports converted from one language to another. Talksie professionals specialize in one or both services.
What languages does Talksie support?
Talksie currently supports English paired with the following languages: Albanian, Arabic, Bulgarian, Chinese (Mandarin), Croatian, Czech, Danish, Dutch, Estonian, Finnish, French, German, Greek, Hindi, Hungarian, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Latvian, Lithuanian, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Serbian, Slovak, Slovenian, Spanish, Swedish, Thai, Turkish, Ukrainian, and Vietnamese.
Many of our interpreters and translators are multilingual, so combinations between these languages — beyond English — are also available. As Talksie grows, we will expand to support combinations across all languages and industries. If your specific language pair isn't listed yet, contact us directly at info@talksie.app or +1 212 347 6079 and we'll find the right professional for you.
Are Talksie interpreters and translators vetted?
Interpreters and translators build their own profiles on Talksie. Professionals who have been individually reviewed and confirmed by our team are marked as Verified on their profile — look for the verified badge when searching.
How does payment work?
Clients pay securely through the platform. Talksie holds payment in escrow until the job is marked complete, then releases funds to the interpreter or translator within 48 hours. This protects both parties.
What happens if I'm not satisfied with the work?
Talksie holds payment in escrow until the job is marked complete. If there's a dispute, you can raise it through the platform within 48 hours of job completion and our team will review it manually.
Does Talksie work for remote and on-site interpretation?
Yes — interpreters on Talksie offer remote (video/phone), on-site, and hybrid interpretation depending on their availability and your location.
What currencies does Talksie support?
All payments on Talksie are currently processed in USD.
Is Talksie only for large businesses?
No. Talksie is designed for any business that needs professional language services — from startups entering a new market to established companies managing international operations.
